Education disguised as fun!
My 10-year old son came home from school one day totally excited about learning (totally outside of normal for him). The difference was the topic; in this case rudimentary physics. In looking for something for his b-day I came across this Lego-like construction set with a bent toward physics. The box includes a set of instructions for several models that use pulleys plus a booklet with fun activities and very interesting educational facts/stories. My son was and still is super excited to build each thing and show it off to mom; explaining what each part is and what it does. The pieces snap together easily and the building instructions are generally clear and understandable. Some of the final products once put together were a little wobbly but worked well for demonstrating different uses for pulleys. The parts themselves are of good quality and seem sturdy. There are some very small pieces so I don't recommend it for a house with infants. I plan to buy more in the collection and continue bonding with my son.

Educational! Detailed - Best for older child like 9+
I ordered this for my 7 year old going on 8 to get him interested in engineering before he took robotics class during the summer. He opened the product and was overwhelmed with all the small writing of the instructions. Definitely, requires an adult to help. He closed the box up and has not opened it since. My son puts together a lot of the Lego collections and loves them. The instructions are visual and color coded for easier assembly. I am looking for something in between Legos but not as complex as this product. When he is older I will definetely come back to it but right now I want my son to stay interested in science and engineering and think it is FUN without feeling overwhelmed.
